Summer renovation project - a flea market find table
In my previous life, when I was employed and had a few weeks of vacation in the summer, I always used to start some project. Repaint a room (or an entire apartment), build a shelf, rearrange or renovate some old piece of furniture. I think I want to lie in a hammock and read when I'm off, but it always turns out that's not what I want, apparently. I quickly figure out that I should start something where I get to work with my hands and body. Nowadays, I'm on my own and don't have those strangely sacred weeks of uninterrupted vacation. I'm kind of both working and off at the same time, all the time. I love being creative all the time, but quite a lot of time is spent running a business and working with my brain and computer.
But last week I was OFF and went on a road trip with my mom. There were flea market finds and, among other things, I brought home a small folding table. I have been looking for a suitable table for my kitchen for a long time and decided to buy one, without paying too much attention to the fact that it was rusty and extremely worn. Once home I started on this summer's project (apparently). I want to get the wood out and have now scraped and sanded away four layers of paint. I COULD have painted it white instead, but that's no sport... I hope I manage to get it free of all paint and then I'll probably treat it with linseed oil wax.
